My favorite quotes:
❝To have another language is to possess a second soul.❞
Charlemagne

Every day I count wasted in which
there has been no dancing.

Friedrich Nietzsche

I am a professional translator and educator. I am passionate about language and discovery. I enjoy learning about how the world works, making interdisciplinary connections, and sharing those ideas with others. I am a mom, a wife, an avid tango dancer, and a lover of artful crafts--like design, cooking, sewing, and data visualization.

I truly love language and teaching. As a child, poetry, ballet, and a diverse group of friends led me to study languages. I never thought, back then,
that language would become my profession!

I started my professional journey in the sciences (with the study of biochemistry) and eventually specialized in medical localization (design and content adaptation) and linguistics. My work in translation led me to a Master's Degree at Monterey and an American Translators Association Certification. I have worked directly and through service providers with Fortune 500 and premier medical instruments companies, translating, editing, and proofreading millions of words, literally!

I have taught translation technology, localization, and Spanish translation courses, and designed and launched one of the leading localization programs in the US, the Master of Arts in Translation/Localization Management at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (in 2005). I am currently pursuing research in linguistics and US Spanish.

I am the (very proud) mom of three children in a family of five, counting my hubby. With my kids, I am learning a lot about K-12 education today. I have become a passionate volunteer at several schools and I am currently working on programs for strengths-based education.
